Make Your Own Chilled Vitamin WaterWe all need to drink sufficient water every day in order to keep our bodies healthy and hydrated, but it is not always that easy as drinking plain old water does not suit everyone. This is not good though, as it can lead to dehydration, an impaired immune system and illness.

One way to get around this is to flavour your drinking water, which can be done via adding cordials, lemon juice, fresh fruit or herbs. There are some great ways to easily make healthy, tasty water that is great to sip on at the office or around the pool.

Here are a few recipes that you might enjoy, and they may even give you some ideas to make recipes of your own:

Lemon & Cucumber Water

Mix in a Jug:
10 cups water

1 Cucumber and 1 Lemon, thinly sliced

1/4 cup finely chopped fresh Basil Leaf

1/3 cup finely chopped fresh Mint Leaves

Leave in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

Refreshing Pineapple & Mint Water

Mix in a Jug:

10 cups Water

1 cup Pineapple, cubed

12 fresh Mint Leaves, finely chopped

Leave in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

Strawberry & Lime Water

Mix in a jug

10 cups Water

6 Strawberries OR Raspberries

1 Lime, thinly sliced

12 finely chopped fresh Mint Leaves

Leave in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

Apple & Cinnamon Water

Mix in a Jug:

10 cups of water

1 cup Apple, cubed

2 Cinnamon Sticks

2 teaspoons Ground Cinnamon

Leave in the refrigerator overnight before serving

Iced Ginger Tea

Heat 1 teaspoon of Ginger in two cups of tea and let it cool down.

Mix in a Jug:

10 cups of Water with the two cups of Ginger Tea

4-5 pieces of Fresh Ginger, cubed.

Leave in the refrigerator overnight before serving.

Have fun infusing your drinking water with various fruits and herbs. This is best done with the best drinking water which is obtained from a water cooler, because a mains water cooler fitted with a really good filter will provide you with toxin-free, chilled drinking water virtually non-stop. Enjoy!
