How to Ingest Water without Drinking ItBy now we all know that around 70% of our body is made up of water and that we lose water all the time so need to drink water to maintain hydration and good health, right?

That is all good and well, but what does an individual do when they do not like drinking water? There are many people that either do not like the taste or smell of tap water or just think that it is not that important. Wrong! Drinking water regularly is VERY important.

How to Ingest Water without Drinking It

Drinking water is important because we need to stay hydrated so that all the cells and organs in our body function optimally. Without water we become dehydrated and our body will basically start slowing down and then switching off as the dehydration gets worse. Humans can die after just three days without water.

Drinking water is not the only method of getting water into our bodies, so never fear those who do not like drinking water:

Fruit

There are various fruits that are an excellent source of water. They are water-rick and by eating them you will not only be assuaging your hunger but also your body’s need for hydration.

Some of the best fruit containing between 88% and 92% water include strawberries, grapefruit, watermelons, cantaloupes, and peaches. Eating a few slices of watermelon as a snack on a hot day will go far towards rehydrating you, and a grapefruit with some brown sugar on it will make a good start to the day.

Pineapples, oranges, cranberries, and raspberries are also water-rich at 87% water per volume; blueberries and plums contain 85% water and apples and pears come in at 84%. Cherries and grapes are 81% water and bananas are 74%.

A smoothie packed with nutritious berries will both give you a great energy boost and hydrate you after a hard workout.

Vegetables

There are also plenty excellent sources of water-rich vegetables including lettuce, cucumbers, radish, zucchini, celery, tomatoes, and cabbage; all of which are between 93% and 96% water. Just make sure that you do not cook the vegetables to death, thereby ridding them of most of their water. Eat raw where possible or cooked al dente.

Other great sources of water in veggies can be found in eggplant, sweet or bell peppers, cauliflower, broccoli, and spinach, all of which are around 92% water. An added bonus is that cauliflower and broccoli both have cancer-fighting properties.

Carrots, Green peas, white potatoes are also a good source, containing between 80% and 87% water.

Remember though, even if you do eat all your fruit and veggies, they can only provide some of your daily water requirement, so you will still need to drink some water.
