Living in a Fish BowlHealth practitioners often compare human health to living in a fish bowl. This is actually a very good analogy, even though it may seem strange. It is an interesting one and hopefully when you get why they use it, you will understand the working of the human body and the need for us to drink water a bit more.

Living in a Fish Bowl

Picture the environment in your body as being like a fish bowl, with your cells being the fish. Everyone knows that if you do not change the water in a fish bowl regularly the fish will die, as they will if the water is not filtered.

The fish will die if the water is not filtered or changed because they eat and then eliminate their waste into the water, and if it is not removed it will build up and eventually choke the fish to death. This is exactly what will happen to the cells in our body if we do not drink water regularly.

When we do not drink enough water, waste products build up in the fluid surrounding our cells, which prevents the vital nutrients and oxygen our cells need from getting into the cells. It will also prevent waste or toxins from getting out, which can cause cell mutation. Cell mutation is one of the primary causes of cancer.

When we do not drink water in sufficient quantities, one of the first functions that will be affected is the detoxification process. Detoxification includes sweating, urinating, defecating, and even breathing.

The problem is that the human body is very clever in its own right, and it adapts in some ingenious ways, like storing toxins in obscure places like the joints, fatty tissue, and arterial deposits. This means that it stores toxins in safe places, which is okay short-term, but can be dangerous in the long-term.

So, remember that you need to change the water in the fish bowl (otherwise known as your body) regularly by replacing that which is lost due to bodily functions. This means that you need to drink water often in order to remain hydrated and in good health.
