A habit of drinking a glass of water in the morning can ensure that the digestive system of the human body remains regular.
In terms of kidney health, this organ depends a lot on water. Your kidneys filter 150 litres of blood every day. They remove wastes and also help keep fluids at a healthy level. If you don’t get enough water into your body, wastes can accumulate and lead to kidney stones or infections. Also, urine that is clear or pale yellow indicates that you are hydrated and healthy.
Water can also help you with your weight. Sometimes your body can get confused and mistake thirst for hunger. Drinking water before meals can help you avoid snacks. Also, by switching from other drinks like soda and juice to water, you can reduce calorie intake.
But how much water do you really need? Health experts generally recommend that people should have at least six to eight glasses a day. This amounts to about 1.5 to 2 litres. This can vary depending on your age, level of activity, and where you live.
You need to remember that not all fluids are equal. For example, tea and coffee can also help you keep fluids at a healthy level. Also, milk can help. However, soda and alcohol can have negative side effects.
