As discussed with the overfishing epidemic, a lot of different predators are being killed in the ocean. Now, although many may think that sharks are irrelevant and just pose a danger to humans and other species, they are quite important for the ocean’s wellbeing. Tens of millions of sharks get killed each year brutally. Since sharks’ reproduction is quite slow, their numbers can’t bounce back easily. Species like the orange roughy and bluefin tuna are also two threatened predator species.

Anxiety has been raised, as the coral reefs of the world play a crucial part in supporting sea life. Both coral bleaching and global warming, are causing corals to die. However, scientists are making an effort to conserve endangered and non-endangered reefs.
