It’s no doubt that global warming has taken over the world and affected how we do many things. We have been forced to step away from our comfort zones and put in the effort required to sustain the earth as much as we can, essentially to slow down the effects of global warming on the earth. During a pandemic like the coronavirus, natural resources are more important than ever before, especially water for the usage of washing our hands and maintaining the best possible hygiene we can. The main goal now, apart from protecting the earth and its natural resources to sustain us going forward and into the future, is to remain healthy and virus-free.

It can only be done when we take care of ourselves, particularly our immune systems, which are our defense mechanisms against the coronavirus. To decrease our water usage and lower our bills which is equally more important than ever before, there are a number of things we can do to also help us face the pandemic with ease.

How to Combat the Pandemic and Help the Earth by Saving Water

  • Place buckets outside to catch water when it rains. You can use this to bathe, wash dishes, keep it for watering your garden or even your car.
  • You can soak your dishes in a sink filled with water instead of rinsing them off individually after washing them.
  • Time your shower time and acknowledge different ways that you can cut your time spent in the shower.
  • Recycle dishwater, shower, and bath water to use for outdoor water usage.
  • Use a modern eco-friendly dishwasher that does not use too much water.
  • Water your garden early in the morning, instead of in the afternoon or on hot days when water evaporates.
